Love. Inclusion. Faith. Empowerment.

Millions of families in America go hungry every year. Help us provide them with enough to eat.

MAE's Mind, Body, Spirit model which empowers and compassionately facilitates the healing of mental illness and opioid addictions among the homeless demographic through holistic healing modalities. We offer holistic counseling, equine therapy, expressive arts workshops, yoga, and cognitive therapy. We assist with rental payments so that clients can access housing much more quickly. Most often individuals that are homeless have nothing but the belongings that they can carry on their backs, so once housing is acquired we assist with furnishing their apartment so that they can have a fresh start.

We don't stop there. We continue our relationship and offer our holistic counseling to ensure a successful transition and future. Currently, we are providing financial literacy programs, job search assistance and direct services. Those direct services (like hot meals, clothing, and emergency shelter assistance) meet the immediate needs of about 300 homeless individuals, weekly. Those individuals reside in several of our state's most needy communities: Pawtucket, Providence, West Warwick, and Woonsocket.

It is our goal to open a wellness center in 2021 where we will continue to provide our ongoing holistic programs as well as a trait center. This Wellness Center will serve as Mae's permanent home. We will operate a teaching kitchen where hands-on practical training in the culinary field for our clients will be taught. We will also establish a woodworking workshop where we will refurbish second-hand furniture or antiques and produce one-of-a-kind, artistic furniture pieces. The facility will provide opportunities to host sewing classes and offers space for a healing garden. We have put these programs in place to ensure we are supporting and empowering our clients to break the chains of homelessness.

2020 was a challenging year, but Mae and its wonderful volunteers never stopped. In fact, our services multiplied. We served over 1,000 hot meals per month, put at risk individuals up at hotels to quarantine, assisted many more individuals secure housing and continued all of our outreach/holistic therapy services via Zoom. Our role in the community has never been more needed than now and into the future. Your donations will help us end homelessness by providing apartment rental assistance to many families in need. Funds received will further assist us securing our wellness center where greater empowerment can take place to change the face of homelessness in Rhode Island.
